I have tried 2 different bolt style pullers and the pullers keep breaking and i can't that gear off. im outta ideas other than heating it up with a torch to get the metal to expand but im kinda weary about that since it is on the crankshaft and i don't want to warp it any ideas would be awesome thanks.....

Which pullers have you used? Chrysler Harmonic Dampner Puller should do it just fine. Rent it a Vatozone. Did you thread a longer bolt into the crank so the puller can push on it? If not then try that.

Good luck

The newer version of Chrysler's dampener puller supplies two different shafts to use instead of a long bolt. Start with the short one, then when you run out of room, switch out to the longer one. You should have just enough room to remove the dampener if the top mount is removed first.

Universal claw pullers have worked SOMETIMES. Most of the time the pulley is just too siezed. Only the special tool will remove

i have already used the chrysler dampner pulley puller i have everything off down to the gear that you take off to get to the oil pump seal and i can't get that gear off. i have used 2 different bolt type gear pullers like the haynes manual said.. the claw type pullers won't work because there is no lip on this piece to get a grip with..

im in the same boat my friend. When you figure it out let me know. There is supposed to be a special tool but no one has it not mits or chrysler dealers. OTc or jayracing doesnt have it. The tool number is MD995027 if your talking about the crankshaft gear. I have tried 2jaw and 3jaw pullers, I have used a harmonic dampner puller with diff bolts and the puller stripped so I have been at a stand still for bout 3wks trying to remove this damn gear. Have you already purchased the gear. I bought mine from extreme psi the part # is M04667604. if there is no lip then it has been broken there should be a very small aluminum lip there
