The silver part is the CAS support. The CAS plugs into the left side of it - it's the black plastic thing with the plug coming out of it. The sensor is held in with one 10mm bolt. Unplug, unbolt, pull the old one, oil up the o-ring on the new one, pop it in, bolt on, plug in.
If the shop has a spare CAS, they could plug in the other CAS and see if the car starts and throws P0340 like TALONTRAX said. That's the CAS error code. If you know anyone else with a 2gb, you could use theirs. Honestly, it takes under a minute to replace if you rush, 5 minutes if you sip beer in between every step.
