I have a 94 mitsubishi eclipse with a 1.8 non turbo. I was wanting to get more power out of or put a 2.0 in it and i was just wondering what the best way to go is.

Or, keep it since it actually runs and then buy a 4g63t that does not run. now you can chase parts all day fixing the other until it is up and running.

As the others have stated, you are better off with getting one that already is set for the larger engine.
You could swap for a 4g63T or get an entirely built 2.3L stroker, but you're just adding muscle to a system that is not built for that rigor.

For instance, the braking system and the transmission aren't quite up to the power, so you would have to upgrade those as well. You would end up dropping so much money into getting everything else up to par... you would pay less by just starting with something meant to handle a little more.

There is alot more to swapping a 4g63t into a 1.8 car then the 2.0 n/t car. If you go that route be preparred for long nights. As you have to swap everything out not run a couple wires and call it a day. I would keep it as a dd then get a turbo car. And this is coming from someone that did the swap in a 2.0 n/t car.
