90 AWD - Strange mmcd issues

We tried getting mmcd up and running on my friend's Tsi this week, but we ran into a couple of issues. First off, we can get the logger to interface with the ecu, we can pull and reset codes just fine, however, we cant get it to actually log any data while the car is running ( yes, we highlighted the fields we wanted to log). and secondly, whenever the logger is plugged into the data port, we experience an ignition cut when we get near full boost ( 21 psi )

Any ideas? I know that there are issues with the 90's and auto-on cables, but it was my understanding that that would result in no contact with the ecu whatsoever

i ran into the same thing yesterday, make sure you check the log box, and then uncheck the pause box and it should log.

i got my logs, however its all gibberish to me

tried that too, still no go
