Ok i have a 91 talon tsi AWD and i have had many issues with this car since i bought it. And my latest issue is fuel, on start up i have to pump my gas pedal to keep it from stalling and after that it wont really stall after you drive it for about 5 minutes but it idles incredibly crappy like 500-400 range. When applying pressure to the gas pedal it starts to sputter you can sometimes put the pedal to the floor and the rpms wont go with it because it is sputtering so bad. Its not a boost leak because when you get her going she holds 10 psi nicely(and i have done test) so can someone please tell me what is going on. Injectors???? fuel pressure regulator????? fuel pump????? I have no idea please help.

Start with the basics. Check fuel pressure, you can get a cheap gauge and make sure you remove the vacuum line when checking it. Change your fuel filter. Check plugs, wires because it could be an ignition problem.

To check the injectors you can use a mechanics stethoscope to listen to each injector. One will be quieter than others and you can usually hear which one is dead. Loud lifter tick can make it hard though, but it really dont sound like an injector problem.

Also how much pressure did you pressure test the intercooler system too and how long did it hold? Just because you still hit 10psi doesnt mean you dont have a leak.

You don't want to just crank away on your idle screw. Do it correctly:

Could be alot of things.

Pull your plugs and disconnect the coil. If you crank it over, do you smell fuel? If so, it's more likely a sensor/ECU problem than fuel delivery.

Do what Jay said; start with the basics .... I would set the timing and BISS (correctly), and then test the ISC, TPS, IPS, etc. Search on these forums for those things and you will find tons of information.

Do you have a logger? If not and you are keeping the car, GET ONE! :). It will pay for itself in the first hour or so. A new (but outdated) Palm IIIc for $50 and free mmcd software works nicely.
