Alright so I bought the SBR manifold flanged for the tial 38mm. I am hooking up a dump tube from that but what about my O2 housing? Can I just port the stock o2 housing or is there something else i have to do?

Porting in most cases is good. It alows better exhaust flow and quicker spool up. But i will be nice i you teel us what's your turbo set up.

If your current turbo is set up for an internal wastegate and you want to switch to an external, you must get the internal wastegate flapper shut. From this point, any porting of the internal wastegate part of the o2 housing is worthless as gasses will no longer be flowing out of there.

Now if you already have done that and are looking for options with your o2 housing, then porting the inside of that (not the wastegate part) would be a good idea, but most people switch to a tubular o2 housing when they switch to external as it opens up that area for better dump tube clearance and possibly WG recirculation (if desired).

what he means by that is actually have the wastegate flapper welded shut so it isn't opening internally. A friend of mine has the same manifold and wastegate on his 2g and i am getting ready to do the same thing. he is def. right about porting the o2 housing or getting a bigger/tubular housing. ;)

p.s. the sbr manifold and tial wastegate make a ton of difference! :thumb:

sorry guys I'm bought a bullseye 50 trim so it was never internally gated. I just wasn't sure if my stock o2 housing would work... I most def will port it out or find a larger 2.5 o2 housing. So if I go this way with the WG off the manifold and dump tube of the WG then and o2 housing that is similar to the stock (idk if that means recirculated or not) Or is recirculated o2 housing with the WG on the o2? Thanks for the help guys

are you refering to the weld -up kit? Neither hole is shut... I dont see why a recirculated o2 housing wouldn't work? thanks again

Any help guys?... I just need to know whether a recirculated O2 housing will work with my external wg off the manifold and a bullseye 50 trim that was never internally gated..

I have basically the same setup, I have a garrett 50 trim with external wastegate off the manifold, but my o2 housing is a bit different then yours.

sure shot.. what type of o2 are you using? I've seen kits on dejon powerhouse that blocks off the wg hole.. Do I need to weld this whole shut... Theres no flapper just a hole where the internal gate setup would be.. thanks
