Tre has no quafe, getting one from KTP

Well my car is still in the shop waiting on a quaife. TRE has my tranny and told my shop it will still be another 3 weeks. ( Major backorder)So i asked what my choices are Thinking the obx unit was my only other choice)and I guess John @ TRE said he has a couple of KTP LSD's on the shelf and a lil bit cheaper then the quaife. i searched for ktp on the net and found a website selling them for 3000gt's but i couldnt find anything.. never heard of it. My shop said the only concern was strength back in the day but now them seem to be pretty good, So i told him lets do it. and if john gets the word today.. then ill have my stage 2 tranny and lsd in my car this weekend! (yay! ite been 4 months!) But im still wondering if its a good brand. anybody heard of them before?

well in case anybody cares, there is a new lsd on the market i guess, KTP is a copy and a lil cheaper.

I have heard of them before there is just not a lot of them out there in the dsm's. I am sure if John stocks them and is willing to install them in his transmissions you have nothing to worry about

Ktp is what karking sells, last I knew they were also on a big back order. I havent heard anything bad about them, Im sure if you want a quafie you can find one from one of our sponsors. search for karking lsd on here you will find some feed back good luck with the trans

I spoke with George from Kar King yesterday on the phone and he no longer has units in stock but he said that tre and shep both have a few units left. They still have the designs but are hesitant about making another production run because even though there were almost no issues with it, it never really took off as a whole like they expected. I would go for it if you don't want to wait. It is a good product and like I stated before TRE would not put an inferior part in any transmission he put his name on.

Wow! Thanks for the information!! Yeah, I told Jon to go ahead and put in it in, The thought of having my car this weekend was too much to take. Its been down since Late Feb. I have a Stage 2 Tranny comming to me as well. I really cant belive that nobody responded to the KTP unit. I mean who wouldnt want a full lsd and not have to pay an arm and a leg! Anyways im excited and cant wait for it.....

I guess Qaifes have been on backorder for awhile, too. My brother has had a Shep tranny paid for and sitting at Shep waiting for the Qaife for weeks.

Yep.... mine was at TRE shop for a rebuild and quaife 9 weeks? I was told it would be another 3 week wait for the Quaife, So i jumped at Karking's unit. I hate waiting

if its allready been 9 weeks and you only had 1 more to go , i would have waited for a quaife. But anything better then stock is a improvment.

not one left but three.... my dad is needing the vehicle i have been using to get me around :update: My tranny is at the shop today, I was told i get it wed!!!
