I was recently doing a brake, strut replacement journey which took a while thanks to my amazing assistant. During all of this my cv axle popped out of the boot. Well.. After it was all said and done I started to drive away. I heard a knocking thought it was just the cv axle due to it falling out of the boot and it being loose? apparently i was previously mistaken. I drove about another 300 meters and then.. the rim popped off of the hub assembly. Apparently I hadn't tightened the lug nuts enough because they just unscrewed themselves. The only damage was part of the rotor was ground down(no where in which the pad makes contact) and also my fender due to the tire slamming into it...

The inner part of the fender that is closest to the door is severely dented. I will have to replace it but before I take it off I was wondering if I should be expecting any frame damage. are there any bolts that connect the fender to the part of the wheel well next to the door? or... are all the bolts for the fender underneath the hood and also the front bumper? Im personally hoping for the later...

Mental note to self.. never trust good and tight....

Remove your plastic inner fender.

There should be 2 bolts at the front joining the fender to the bumper cover.

Then you have 4 to 6 along the top of the fender under the hood.

Remove the plastic cap of the skirting at the bottom of the fender and you will find 2 more bolts.

I believe if you open the door you may see one more by the top door hinge, just look to be safe.

They are not bad to take off at all. Sorry I can't tell you the size of the bolts off the top of my head. I am typing this from memory.

PS. use some good penetrating oil like pb blaster. The front ones in the bumper cover like to break off.

they are 10 milameter and don't forget the bolt just above the bumper that in the engine compartment
