Hey everyone, I have a 91 eagle talon tsi awd. Make a longer story short, I tried wiring a 2G maf to my car with just the simple wiring instructions I got from a friend that owns a local shop, Didnt work The car *check engine light* had come on and the car was running very lean and blowing black smoke from the exhaust. I had a the shop look at my wiring job with the 2G maf sensor, Turns out that i did all the wiring correct, It just needed a ground wire on the solid black wire.. cost me 250 bucks for a ground wire because of labor.

Now with the 2G sensor, When the engine is warm or hot you could say when I put the car into park, It rev's to about 2 1/2 or 3 RPM most of the time and when I'm driving it down the street going pretty slow it just idle about 2 RPM and will not go below that unless i hit the brakes. Now I do alot of city driving and this new 2G maf was a bad idea from the start.

Now I took the 2g Maf and the piping off my car and tried rewiring the stock 1G Maf back up, everything is hooked back up to stock. The car is acting the same as it did before..
The *Check engine light* is back on and the black smoke is coming from the exhaust.. Now I dont know what to do.:beatentodeath:

If you have any information or could help me out in anyway I would appreciate it very much!!!!
Thanks Dan.

Yes there are 450c injectors in my car,They are the blue injectors. I also never had a SAFC installed ether.. The Cel is still on and the car is running lean and black smoke coming out of exhaust, So Iam not sure if i have to ground one of the wires on the stock MAF... Thats why i need help.
Thanks Dan.

Ok, Well my main problem is the wiring on the stock MAF, When i wired everything back together. It is still running ruff and the cel is still on. any idea's?

The main reason I am trying to turn all back to stock is because the end clutch in my transmission blew out, I have no Overdrive now and the car will only run on 3 gears...

Ok im going to undo the battery cables and let it sit for about 10 mins and then hook them back up, Then I'll let you know whats going on. Thanks again

Now, Im not even getting a boost reading when i put the key in and turn it * not to start*
I also get no check engine light and the car wont even start now.. I dont know what else to do. The TSI has 176,000 miles on her and the body's shot..

I just dont understand why it wont even start now with everything wired back to stock.

First and foremost make sure your connections on the battery are real tight.

If your stock boost gauge doesnt jump when you try and start the car, I think thats a symptom of your ecu going out .

Do you hear any weird clicking coming from behind the center console?

Greetings, if at me costs 2g маf instead of 1g маf, injectors a stock 450cc me suffices to lift pressure on injectors with 37psi on 43psi and all the order. It's also will compensate those of 20 % a difference between 2g and 1g maf, and don't to put 550cc injectors. The pump at me 190/lph.

Please rephrase.

LOL nice

Not having a CEL when you turn the car to the "ON" position and the stock boost gauge not reading zero are signs of a bad ECU. Swap ECU's with someone and see if that fixes the problem.

Just read this while searching......
I'm pretty sure he's saying that if you turn your fuel pressure up with a high flow pump to 43 psi instead of stock 37 then that will basically make up the necessary fuel need with running stock injectors. Doing it this way will eliminate the need for 550's. Pretty sure thats an accurate translation.....makes sense.
Can't blame the guy for speaking broken English..... I give him credit I couldn't have said that in a different language. :)
