I just bought a gs-t with a blown motor. I am going to buy a running motor with a Big 16G. I would like to make between 200-225whp. I have a SAFC. If i just do a intake, DP, and a 3in exhaust, with the SAFC on stock boost what should i be looking at for hp?

I am new to the whole turbo thing but am experience with n/a. Its all new to me...thanks in advance.

The 16g is good for more like 300-375hp.
Running stock boost should put u at or over stated goal easily but stock is relative,
Stock boost varies by body, and by vehicle, my 96 gst ran about 11-12 stock, 14ish with the free ebc mod.
Now im running 22-23psi with 50trim full setup.

If I were you, and depending on the use of said car I would go around 15-18 psi, safc is perfect for that, however you would be well served to get a logging device like pocketlogger.com, or one of the other various devices, also a wideband o2 and gauge device.

You probly want to get larger injectors and atleast a 190lph fuel pump also, if you just want to make this thing run u can probly get away with 12psi and stock fuel but thats no fun and u will most likely want more.

my goals for the car is to have a DD. But i do spend ALOT of time in the Blue Ridge Mountains hanging corners and cruising the Dragon :) . I really just want something i can drive dependably and not have to worry to much about boost leaks and big power problems. I am working on kind of a limited budget so i am trying to keep the spending to a min. Here is what it sounds like i need so far...

190 lph fuel pumb
a logging device...(what are some good ones?)
injectors
boost gauge, egt gauge and Air/fuel gauge
Manual boost controller?

i want to keep running close to stock boost to atleast try and have some good gas mileage, but i am more concerned with having a well balanced car than anything else. I am not a big HP junky, LOL. I am pretty sure i just offended the entire forum with that last statement.

oh btw what is the "free ebc mod"?
 
There are some palm type devices out there you can use on your 2G, they are all over hte classifieds. Your SAFC 1 will do just fine and you can go with a set of RC or PTE 550's, oh and you can always use evo 8 560's if you like the mitsu reliability thing.

The Air/fuel gauge is really only useful if you have a wideband o2 setup, I have one with out the wideband its a pretty light show and will only let me know if I am lean or rich. I keep just to make sure it does not peg itself on the lean side, just keepin an eye on the car.
 
I recently bought a 95 GSX. I want to have the engine rebuilt anyone know any good places to work on eclipses gsx's in San Diego or near san diego?
