So im still sorting out a few problems after my 14b install and one of them is a small oil leak. At first, my oil return line cracked and sent oil all over the underside of my car. I fixed the return line but still have a small leak. After i run the car small drops start falling after about an hour of sitting. It is dropping from the lowest point of the oil pan, right underneath the drain plug. I don't think its the oil drain plug because i wasn't having this problem until the return line cracked. Could the oil be from the first spill i had when the return line cracked? Any suggestions? it's really bugging me. thanks

Have you tried a UV dye leak kit that you pour into the oil? That helped me with my leak when my oil pan flange was cracked to all hell. Its very easy to use.

yea i had the same problem happen as well is soaked everything in oil so it was just dripping off when it would get hot

I'm beginning to think to think thats whats happening. I know the stock oil pressure gauge is about as reliable as the stock boost gauge but how high is your oil pressure while cruising at 75? mine is slightly under half of the upper portion of the gauge. Is that about normal?

First, clean off ALL the oil from the bottom of your car, especialy the pan/drainplug, return line- this includes the edges were it bolts to the block.

Then drive it and check it like the next day. Maybe even sooner depending on your preference. Just give it what you feel is enough time to leak again, you should see where it's coming from if its the pan, drainplug, return line.

If none of those areas show leakage, then its probly time to move on to the UV dye, and or a shop, to have an experienced tech go over it.

Good luck friend :thumb:

Btw with my balance shafts disabled BUT, still in the car, and my oil filter housing NOT ported, I'm seeing about 3/4 of the stock gauge under wot/accelerating, and about 1/4-1/2 during cruise, and 1/4 at idle. profile up to date :dsm:

Here's a diagram of what i'm seeing.

Green= Idle
Red= WOT
Blue= Cruising, 2000RPM's to 3200RPM's

Are you seeing 1/4 of the upper section at idle or 1/4 of the entire gauge? im assuming you mean the entire gauge.
