I filled my ac system last summer and it lasted a couple weeks but then it was gone and I have absolutly no cold air right now. So I'm almost positive that I have an AC leak but I don't want to pay $100 for someone to find it for me. Do you guys have any ideas on how to locate the problem or what I should do?

Thanks,
Krummel21

Well not alot of choices realy, it's probly leaking, where, well you can buy the dye from the auto parts store, and the UV light, or pay someone to do it, either way your going to have top fork over some # for parts etc.

Side note my AC clutch is going bad it's making a terrible racket, so I feel your pain AC is cutting in and out and mines not leaking :(

I'm sorry I don't know to much about that whole system. Where exactly is the sight glass? If there is bubbles how do you fix that? Also do you guys use the stuff with sealer in it or is that a bad idea?

Thanks,

I wouldn't use the sealer stuff. I forget where the sight glass is on DSMs since my AC is gone but it looks like a little window on one of the lines. There may already be dye in the refrigerant, there was in mine, if so and you got a black light laying around, you could check some common areas like anywhere there is a connection. I am not 100% sure that will work, because when we checked for leaks at work/school we had to wear these yellow glasses + use a black light. But if you are looked for free options and have a black light its worth a try.
