Anyone have any ideas as to what the cyclinder compression should be around for a 2.3L stroker with 8.8:1 wiseco's (or 9.9:1 anything elce) and an oddysey battery (not spinning as fast as a normal battery due to limited power output) ??

I'm trying to get a baseline here to check the condition of my headgasket and I wasn't smart enough to take some numbers down after seating the rings on this new motor 'O mine.

... and comp 101200's (or 272/272's or the like... if that matters)

Generally if all the cylinders are within a few percent of each other you're good to go. Unless it's like 25 psi across the board or something ridiculously low like that. A better test to perform would be a leakdown test.

Yeahhhhhhh I know. But I'm being stubborn. I have to do things myself and seeing as I have no air compressor makes a leakdown test difficult.

A coolant system pressure test couldn't hurt either.

A leak-down test would be unnecessary at this point. I have to pull everything out and see where I'm at.

Compression is (1-2-3-4)

Dry - 160-130-150-35
Wet - 180-150-170-60 (2 cap-fulls of 10w30)

Looks like a new headgasket for sure and probably some new rings. :beatentodeath:

What is everyone's opponions as to the rings?

No one can give you the answer if its rings or not unless you do a leakdown.

Unless you were asking which brand rings to buy, I say OEM or whatever brand piston you got.

I'll just drop the pan while the head's off and take a look for myself.

All plugs were out and the TB was blocked open.
