So I can get either the EFI PMS or SAFC II for about the same price ($200). Which would you recomend? I talked to the guy at Pina Motorsports, hes the one selling the EFI PMS, and he recomends it over the SAFC II.

I just want a second opinion before I buy. Im going to be running a E3 16G, probably 680 or 720's.

Thanks

There isn't a lot of support for the PMS, I think you'd probably have a hard time with it. What are your goals for the car?

Just a street/ strip daily driver, has to be reliable, around 350 crank HP at around 20PSI is my goal. nothin too extream. eventually Id like to rebuild the bottom end with a 2.3 stroker 6 bolt.

I would go with the Safc just for the ease of use and the support you can get from fellow Safc users. It will handle 680's and the Evo 3 just fine.

thats what I was planing, but the guy at Pina said the problum with SAFC is that when it alters the airflow reading, the computer advances timing automaticly (bad). the PMS can adjust fuel and timing.

Im not too woried about technical problums, I'm pretty confident electricly and the instruction manual is like a dictionary (80+ pages)

It does advance timing as side effect, but it usually doesn't cause problems with 680 and smaller injectors. I guess for $200 you wouldn't really be wasting a lot of money on the PMS. Give it a shot.

well I dont want to go all out to DSMlink just yet.

does anyone know the differences between the SAFC I and SAFC II?

I have a PMS on my 1G and my 2G. I love them!! They were just expensive in their day. But for $200 that is a steal!! The PMS is a really good system. There is a yahoo group were you can get support if you need to.
