Hey guys I have a 2g lowered on Sportline's with stock shocks. I have 17s 235/45/17 in fact and I rub in the rear so bad. So to eliminate the rub without changing any suspension components, should I get lower profile tires or Skinnier tires? I was thinking leaving my profile to 45 and getting 215s?

What do you guys think?
 
yea all these suggestions are plausable. i'd go with the 215s as well...and check your camber just to see if you need a camber kit.
 
Do not roll the inner lip on the rear of a 2g. I have seen quarter panels get messed from being rolled. Its best to trim the inner lip or grind it down for clearance.

You realize that adding positive camber will only place the top of the tire closer to the fender lip, thus, enhancing the rubbing issue, correct?

But who lower's a 2g with no rear camber kit?

Not true. My fender's are rolled and the quarter panels are not deformed at all. I wouldn't go cutting that lip because I believe it is there for structural integrity purposes, and it could lead to some nasty rust down the road.


So what is the offset of the wheels? (as posted already)
 
Sportlines are just way too much drop imo. I have prokits rated at 1.3" and ended up being 1.5". Can't imagine with sportlines. Rolling the rear is all you need to do.

It is so easy, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You don't need that silly paint roller looking tool either, just get a pair of vice grips and a nice 1.5" diameter steel pipe. Jack up the rear, remove the wheels, and use the vice grips to fold the inner lip up inside. Once you have it angled upwards use the hefty pipe to *carefully* mold it smooth all the way around with forceful taps. That's it.
