Best place to mount external WG

Hey guys i have been doing alot of reading and i cant find the answer im looking for. i am going to be running an EVO III 16g with an external wastegate. yes i know that i can upgrade the internal gate but i am going to upgrading to a larger turbo in the future i just dont know when. I am wondering the pros and cons of the mouting positions such as manifold and o2 housing? I am working on getting the mods updated in my profile. sorry

The best place is where all 4 runners combine, but thats not always possible. Personally I would go with a custom manifold that allows this though, but that may not be in your bduget.

like stated above with out spendin a lot of money for a custom exhaust mani i would have to say the o2 housing. as it allows flow from all 4 ports of your exhaust. Where as alot times you will see them mounted of the mani and on the #1port this is good but can put a lot of stress on the manifold and make it more pron to crack, but you also dont get flow of all four ports dircetly.

thanks for the info. i was looking at the SBR mani and its on the #1 i think. i dont think a custom manifold is in my budget but i will shop around. thanks again

Either on the exhaust manifold collector or on the o2 housing is your best bet.

If you decide to run it on a manifold, buy a "custom" one such as the sbr already flanged for the gate because i have seen more than a few people who mount them on the stock manifold developping a crack and the wastegate falling off as they are driving.

I personnally just picked up a sls (www.straightlinespecialties.com >>click on exhaust) reroute o2 housing flanged for the gate. Punishment racing also makes them for slightly cheaper as suggested in the post above.
