i wasn't sure where to post this first of all, but im looking for some insight on known HP applications 600+whp AWD and what they are using to 're-enforce' the rear ends. also driveshaft upgrade, axles. etc.

figured if i posted it in the newb section i couldnt go wrong :sneaky:

Havent heard alot about people welding their rear diffs. Typically your weaker points will be the center diff (very popular to weld) and the transfer case before you have a problem with a rear end, especially since you should already have a 4-bolt rear (looking at your profile). If you want to be billy badass and have money to blow you could always 4-link the rear of the car and run a solid rear axle (typically a Ford 8.8 or 9). Thats just an idea, but I would think that you wont run into too many problems with the rear end you have in the car now, considering there are weaker points that need to be taken care of before you start tearing up 4-bolt rears.

welded rear ends, aluminum driveshafts to help absorb torque and DSS axles...

haven't heard of weldin' the rear end. hm, center diff i have heard. as i do have an automatic i wont be launching the hell out of the car, i did plan on looking at getting some axles from raxles.com heard nothing but good things from that company. driveshaft is one i havent found yet.

thats even better being an auto. Your putting a lot less stress through the drivetrain with an auto since it is a continual load as oppossed to a manual. Also dont be surprized of the strength of the stock mitsu axles, granted I'm not running that fast but I have never broken the stock axles that are on my car. All I'm trying to say is, I would push the stock stuff to its limits, and then replace and upgrade when they do fail (you know...the dont fix it if it aint broken theory). Everyone will have different experiences, some people might trash transfer cases every week while the next guy may grenade their center diffs. Every car is different. Good luck with your goals. and since you do have an auto, throw a stall in that sucker and launch the hell out of it man. Have fun!

LOL yeah im going to be purchasing a built trans from IPT w/ a 4500stall. i had an issue with a annoying clicking noise (cvboot) so i was going to replace it all and figured it might be better to go all out than to have to do it twice down the road. thanks alot zach you've been helpful
