Just got off the phone with "Niel" from Summit Racing who was absolutly no help to me.

Niel says this manifold will not fit the 6 bolt Motor b/c It is for Drag racing only...after he said that, I hung up the phone on him.

Before I go spend the $600 on this thing, will it fit? Also, I will need an aftermarket fuelrail, what kind? I am still running stock injectors, soon to be upgrading to 550's by the end of the summer. So what fuel rail will accomodate both?

There are so many different companies that make SMIM that there that you could find. Yes it will bolt to the motor that guy is a moron for telling you that. It is best suited for drag racing due to its powerband. But if you have a 1g head you should have a 1g intake manifold. There would be no point for you to put one on when you can run 11's with the stock manifold and not loose all of your low end tq unless you are just planning to drag race this car. But thats up to you.. You could spend that money on something more useful like dsm link.

The Venom SMIM will fit the car but you need to move some stuff around (ignition distributor, battery, throttle cable) Here's a link to a Magnus SMIM (similar intake manifold), DIY from this website. At least you can get an idea of what needs to be moved around. Also you don't need an upgraded fuel rail. From what I've seen, most dsmers don't run aftermarket fuel rails just injectors. I personally have the Magnus SMIM without the fuel rail, but I'm running 880cc injectors.

I have a Venom it will fit just fine and no you do not need a new fuel rail. You will have to mod other things mentioned above.

I understand your post, but SAFC-2 with 50's is good for me. I just figured light in wieght and bigger ports would increase HP out of my B16G. Correct?

Well the ports would be the same size at the point where they attach to the head.. Its the distance that the air has to travel that makes the SMIM really good for high end power.

longer runners= faster air speed = more tq

the weight of your IM is not really a large concern. I say flywheel, rims and drive shaft would give you more as far as weight goes. With a 16g I wouldn't think you would loose low end since its a small turbo still..

SO I'm assuming "Nay" for the SMIM? What about getting the stock ported? Thats means I need to get the head port-matched?

big nay for the SMIM..I kinda see it as a waste of money because of the flow of the 16G is matched well for the stockie..If you want to get yours ported go with extrude hone. You should focus on increasing flow velocity as this will equall more power. They focus on velocity http://www.extrudehone.com/auto/ . That's why all good SMIM have velocity stacks. think about it...more speed = more air = more fuel = more power...
