Hey guys, did my first turbo swap, t25 to 14b, everything seems to be working fine. My car is stock, with the exception of K&N fipk and the 14b.

I'm hitting 9Ibs of boost, maybe 10, does this seem normal with stock downpipe/exhaust?

More info please.
did you go straight from your boost nipple to your wastegate? that is what it sounds like.
you should get a bit more boost from running through your stock Boost control solenoid.
Another thing you may be experienceing is expansion of your stock intercooler pipeing since the 14b will put out more CFM than the t25.

hope this helps.

what do you mean "boost nipple?" I ran line from BCS that T's into the jpipe nipple and wastegate.

That sounds like you are running wastegate pressure, my 14b ran 9lbs on wastegate pressure and others have run a little more/less. Try buying a manual boost controller to bypass your stock selenoid. It's very simple to install and once you do you will enjoy being able to fudge with your boost. Just make sure you buy an accurate boost gauge too (im assuming you have one though because you know you are running 9 -10 lbs).

yeah i have a sbr mbc on order, as well as 1g bov sitting at home. I just wanted to ask if 9Ibs was normal since i havent done any boost leak tests. Thanks

You notice a difference in power with the 9lbs so far? I'm considering the same swap.

I notice a diff powerband, more top end, less bottom. I am putting a mbc in today which should help when I get the boost up to 13Ibs. I'll keep ya posted.

there reall isn't a big difference from 9-13 I noticed a large difference at 15 though. the stock fuel will support 15psi on a 14b. but its better to have a logger just to make sure your not getting any knock.

if youre worried that 9psi is too much for a stock 2g, dont be. Youre fine. Im running 14psi on a ported AGP T28 w/ stock fuel everything. My ait fuel ratios from my wideband show mid-high 11s at WOT and thats with 15%-17% of fuel taken out with the safc.

if youre wondering if 9psi is normal for running straight wastegate, yes that sounds normal.

ILLiCliPSE, what mods have made the most drastic difference on your setup? I'm keeping my car a daily driver, but if I can add a little here and there without spending mucho $ then i'm game.

At this point i don't want to upgrade the fuel system, unless it's a small upgrade that doesn't require tuning and/afc.

A fuel pump rewire or even a 190LPH pump will be a nice and cheap upgrade to the fuel system. niether should cost you over $100.
but like was stated above, as long as you are RESPONSABLE with the boost, the 14B is a great upgrade from a T25.:thumb:

Just been reading some posts, it seems people have run as much as 17Ibs on 14b stock w/fuel pump rewire. Hmmmmm, maybe I could run 15Ibs safely and still have good fuel economy w/the rewire :)

Kromwell, the car is pulling oh so much harder now that i have installed the mbc, 13Ibs made a huge diff over 9Ibs. I miss the quick spool of the t25, i really do, but give the 14b the rpm's and it roars. It's very nice having a turbo that holds it boost all the way to redline. The only bad thing is I find myself speeding more lately :)
