hey every one im running the dual flex-a-lite fans on my 2g I have tried to connected them every way I know and they have never worked:confused: I still drive the car but not far the gauge reads normal but the engine gets really hot and so does my radiator im assuming its because the fans aren’t turning on.. Can any one explain me how to make them run as soon as I start the car?
And im planning on getting oil cooler would that help keep some heat down?

No images but perhaps more detail will help. Note this is for 2g only.

USING HARNESS SIDE WIRES OF FAN CONNECTOR:

For driver's side fan:
Connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's blue/white (ie. blue with white stripe) wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue wire with
3. new fan's + wire (usually non-black)
Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue/black wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)

For passenger's side fan:
Connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's white/black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's white/blue wire with
3. new fan's + wire (usually non-black)
Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's blue/green wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)

USING FAN SIDE WIRES OF FAN CONNECTOR (ie. going to original fan motor):

Also connect the following together:
1. Original fan harness connector's black wire with
2. original fan harness connector's yellow wire with
3. new fan's - wire (usually black)

Note: If ECU doesn't turn fans on when engine hot, test the 2 wire engine coolant temp sensor near thermostat (2.1k-2.7k ohms @ 68F, 260-360 ohms @ 176F).

This is for an aftermarket single speed (2 wire) fan which would then run when either the high or low fan relay is on (ie. runs on any speed switch on setting or when AC or ECU tells the fan to turn on). The stock 3 speed fans have 4 wires.

Alright, I hope this is an OK place to post this. Maybe it can be added to the sticky? I recently got a AC fan that had the plug broken off and got a plug from the cooling fan. I racked my brain trying to figure out how to wire this up! I figured it out after going back and forth between the car and the wiring diagram in the sticky. here is what I came up with and it works!!!!

Fan Harness/plug
Blue/Green Black - Hi
White/Blue Green + Hi
Black Yellow - Lo
White/Black Blue + Lo

Hopefully this looks right to everyone else. haha

very helpful guys. just installed my slim fans and wanted to keep the oem pigtails for quick disconnecting. thanks

Extremely helpful guys. Just did my wiring and install in less than 15 minutes. Kept the OEM pigtails for the quick disconnect. Thanks!

Yes, you will defiantly want to keep the factory pigtails. That's also what I did when I bought mine a couple years ago. Makes it super simple if you need to pull them out.
