ah crap. in the process of removing my transmission, I was pulling the passenger side axle and I tried de-splining it by just pulling on the outbord side of the axle. Then i checked my service manual and read this:
1. Always use a pry bar to remove the drive shaft,
or the T.J. will be damaged.
So as i was pulling on the axle, I noticed it slid outward about an inch (the axle got longer) from within the dust seal where the TJ joint is (the one right aginst the transmission).
Any way to test it to see it i broke it? can i try to just compress the axle to see if it will slide back in? Or is it time to get a new axle
.
Thanks for any help and sorry if the description is confusing.
