Front wheels spinning faster than back

Sherwood Park,
I had just finished getting the car back together, I had gotten a new transmission from a 1990 Galant, act 2600, and light weight flywheel. I put the car on 4 jackstands, started it and let out the clutch to see when it starts to engage. The pedal height is really low, but I can adjust that. My concern is that the front wheels spin noticbly faster than the back's. Is this normal, or is the final drive in the new transmission different than my rear diff?

I do not know the exact final drive gearing for either of those cars, but I can say that the transmission code for the Galant is different than the code for the Talon. If you can actually measure a difference in speed between the front and back wheels then the final drives are different.

thats normal when the wheels are off the ground.

How could that be normal? If the final drive for the rear differential is supposed to be the same as the final drive for the front differential then why would the tires move at noticeably different rates of speed? I understand everything is not perfect and the front tires will probably move at some obsurdly low rate different than the back, but it would not be noticeable with only your eyes.

I left the originaly transfer case on the car, and I read that the wheels may have been going slower due to brake's dragging. Is there a way to tell if the VC or centerdiff is getting a workout?

If you got the transmission from an awd 90 Galant, the gearing isn't compatible with your rear differential.
