I was doing some reading about timing and came across this post:

This was concerning to me since I have a 2G and when I did my cams, I DID NOT note which camsprocket was for the intake and which was for the exhaust. We just put them on b/c we thought they were the same. Now when looking at the cam sprockets with the engine at TDC, the marks line up but not the ones that are a slightly different color. I read where those are the ones to go by. Those happen to be at the opposite end of the camsprockets. Does this mean my timing is off. Are these cam sprockets interchangable from intake to exhaust on a 2G?

I put my VIN into CAPS, and found the cam sprockets, and it said QTY 2 REQ'D with one part number so you should be good to go.
So, it's safe to assume that you can use either cam sprocket on either camshaft.

After reading those threads, it makes more sense now, you should be just fine.

The cam gears for 2Gb's are interchangeable; it's the 2Ga with the cam sensor trigger plate that would be position sensitive. As long as you're not using that sensor, any 4G63 cam gear will do the job if properly installed.
