Well my cars down again. the front main and rear seals blew a couple of days ago. So upon noticing that the stock clutch will not hold at 15psi on a 14b (you guys were right 250hp) with the mods that i have I'll be getting some new stuff so i can get the car in best shape possible. On this list will include I also think my 14b is about to die so that the reason for upgrading that.

Seals fixed 700 bucks to do that.
E316g turbo not sure if i should get it ported or not with 34mm wastegate flapper
New exhaust manifold because mines cracked pretty bad also considering porting (recomendations I was thinking of getting a tubular manifold but i would like it to last a while)
walbro 190.
New clutch but not sure wich is best I was thinking of the centerforce dual friction clutch or a 2600lbs act so if you have experince please tell me what you think.
new clutch master cyclinder
down pipe but not sure yet.
maybe some injectors but also not sure.

I'm thinking that this will be around 2 grand or so but I have to get a second job to do this so... I'm going to go see about a job at discount tire today..

I was also thinking of getting some uicp but if i get a fmic i may do the short rout but its just a 16g so it will spool fine either way.. i have some time to think about it we will see. And getting a logger where do i pick that up from?

Any recomendations for this list so i can pick it up as well while im in process of doing everything at once

Please don't bump your threads. Some of us have to work during the day and can't get to your question immediately. :)

1. If you go with the E316g, do yourself a huge favor and get the MHI unit from a reputable dealer. Then port it yourself. It takes all of maybe 2 hours of your time with the correct tools (die grinder + carbide bit + flapper wheel), is extremely fun to do, and will give you a new skill that you can be proud of. :) Don't get the 34mm wastegate option; it usually blows open under high boost.

2. A stock 2g mani will flow enough for anything the 16g will handle, so no need to go tubular. With tubular, you lose the ability to run a heat shield, so if this car is a daily driver, you may suffer the consequences of too much heat for the hood, fan blades, O2 sensor wire, etc. Go through enough melted fan blades and start fading the paint on your hood, and you'll be wishing you kept your cast mani and heat shield. Porting it is always nice, if you have the time.

3. There are a lot of new clutch producers out there now, besides Centerforce and ACT. Granted, ACT is the "bread-and-butter" clutch of choice for DSM'ers, but if you're looking for something with a bit more daily-driveability, look into the Spec Stage 2 or the Fidanza 2.1 or 3.2. Both of these clutches use Kevlar discs (or pucks, in the case of the 3.2) so pedal feel is still close to stock, and the holding capacity of them are well above the stock clutch. Almost every DSMer who's tried the Spec clutch has said it's worked exceptionally well. The Fidanza is still pretty new, so not many people have them yet. As soon as I get my 3.2 put in my car, I'll do a proper review.

4. Downpipes are nice. Check out Megan Racing's downpipe. It's fairly cheap, is a true 3" (for AWD cars), is polished SS, but it removes the catalytic converter. If you decide to go that route, order it from a reputable vendor and if you're AWD, make sure you're getting the REVISED downpipe. Some vendors are still selling the old version, which has incorrect flange clocking. The other popular downpipe is the Apexi N1, but in my opinion, the Megan Racing downpipe has a lot fewer bends and is somewhat larger than the Apexi. Other popular options include VRS and Punishment Racing. Punishment can even build to suit whatever piping options you require (atmospheric dump, O2 eliminator, flex-pipe, cat-converter elim., etc.).

5. If you get the Walbro 190lph, you might as well do the fuel pump rewire while you're at it. If you decide to go with a 255, you'll need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator to keep fuel pressure in check.

6. With bigger injectors, you'll need something to tune them with: DSMLink, SAFC, VPC, MAFT, AEM, etc. The classic DSM combo is E316g/550's/190lph/SAFC.

Good luck and keep us updated. :thumb:

As far as injectors go i was thinking of picking up some from a evo 9...

the E316g I was going to pick up from extreme psi.. so that i won't get one of the GT's

I plan on keeping my car for daily driving and my exhaust manifold has crack that runs all the way through it on the bottom side. I was thinking of getting the manifold from the gt people though.

And for tuning i was planning on using a SAFC 2 or neo with a GM maft and logger.

all together i was going to get 264-264 fmic and everything else is already on the car except for the fmic which i was going to get from ebay. just enough to run 350 or so to the wheels

then the basic stuff new rims.. brakes small stuff so i can race..

From Experience Just Spend The Money On Dsmlink V2 Instead Of The Neo/logger Combo. :) Makes Life Easier

I would get the E316G.
Get a set of 660's for it and the GM MafT and logger is ok but DSMLink or DSMChips.com is better. I recommend DSMChips. You will wanna go with a 255lph pump with that and get some for of AFPR.
I would go with the FP Race manfold. For just over 300 you can't find a better manifold.
If you wanna save some money go with the DKS 264 combo. Same price as one HKS 264 cam.
Exhaust I would go with the MR downpipe and exhaust.
Just keep your stock rotors or get a set of slotted and go with Hawk, EBC, or Axxxis pads. They are all good.

660 injectors and walbro 255 w/ fuel pressure regulator

the fuel setup gives you some room to grow as we all kno does happen. but i agree 100% with95blackgsturbo

Thats true with the 255 and 660's but if i do go bigger it wont be until I'm done with pharmacy school and i still have a long time before i get there so this setup would meet my needs and again alot of it is just replacement parts because things are going out.. except the clutch it just doesn't hold at 15psi on the 14b so it needs to be upgraded. The cams may or may not happen.. And when i do the cams I'm going to get some arp's becuase the ones i had in my six bolt don't fit in the seven. Also the down pipe just because its about that time for that. I have an apex exhaust already does the MR down pipe connect with it?

Also where could i look to find out some more information on the 3.2 clutch you are talking about?

I found a short bit of information on extremepsi and the way it looks is that is a 4 puck clutch rated at 395 lbs tq. Im' sure thats more than what i would need but i compared it to the centerforce dual friction and its like it would be a better buy since it would be less harsh of engagement. Also it would still meet the holding requriements that i will need it for. Next.. I am going to go with the 190 but if i do the rewire kit will I need to get a new fpr.

Also where would be the best place to find the evo 9 injectors. I looked on evolution.net but didn't find any for sale. Apperantly fuel is not the biggest problem for them.

I would definately go with a 255lph fuel pump. They are all pretty much the same price. I used to be at almost 400 hp with a 255lph walbro, afpr, 660cc injectors, and an afc. I always had plent of fuel by the logger data. I wouldn't do more work than you have to. Make it easy on yourself. Centerforce Dual friction is also a good choice for a close to stock pedal feel and good holding power. Same car and it has been beaten on for 2 years now and it still holds up. Nothing bad to say about that :thumb:
