okay guys, so heres the story, i had my head rebuilt on my 2g talon about 1000 miles ago. Last week i just upgraded my exhaust to a complete N1 system from the turbo back. After the install i noticed I was getting heavy smoke coming from my exhaust on downshifts. Figured it was probly smoking prior to the exhaust install but the cat hid most of the smoke. Found oil in my UICP and oil in my Intake Manifold. At first panic'd and thought it may be a blown Valve seal or really bad blow by due to the the mileage on my vehicle, around 137,000.

My friends and I found the PCV to be the brut cause. We did a dry compression check and found 180 PSI across the board. So we replaced the PCV, did an induction cleaning to clean out majority of the oil in my intake manifold..so far so good, I have read numerous threads on catch cans, vacuum pumps and using clear fuel filters to help with the PCV system. I have noticed my car still smoking a little...but not nearly as bad as when the bad PCV was in there...thinking it may still be some residue in the IC pipes and IM, I have been keeping an eye on my oil level and it has not changed at all.

I am just looking for some opinions on any modifications I should do to my PCV system or if I should just leave it stock. Has anyone else encountered this same problem? If so how did you go about fixing it. I am running the stock turbo for now, but plan on upgrading everything in the future, this is my daily driver. Thanks for all your help! :talon:

Go with a catch can that intigrates the PCV and the vent. I have seen them made out of PVC from Home Depot and hidden behind the IM. Painting them a flat black and using non-descript black hoses helps to hide the entire ordeal, or you can go with colorful silicon hoses and a flashy can. Either way you go, a catch can for both these items is a great idea.
