Evo 8 Manifold and Turbo Would it fit on a 1G??

My brother owns a 2003 Evo VIII would his manifold and turbo set up (stock manifold and turbo) fit on my 92 eagle talon tsi fwd turbo?? hes upgrading to a bigger turbo and wants to know if i can put good use to his since his car has hardly been driven.....

also what other parts can i use off him.. hes going for 1,000 HP.... hes going to fully built it w/ a ams 2.3 stroker and 42r turbo .... dont ask why... but hes a lil crazy its Not his daily driver thats why.





any help would gladly be appreciated...

Is it because the motor is backwards well everything is backwards. but the turbo will bolt on to the stock 1g manifold??

It will fit, but alot of parts will have to be fabbed up such as downpipe, intake, ic piping, etc. Not a very easy swap, but can be done.

The Evo 8 turbo will not bolt onto the stock 1g manifold. The Evo 8 manifold should have the same bolt pattern as the 1g manifold for bolting up to the cylinder head. So you should be able to use the Evo 8 turbo with the Evo 8 manifold on the 1g head. But like Tom said there will be a lot of other parts that will need to be custom made.

It fits and a few people down here run it. You need to get an alternator relocating kit and a custom made intake since the compressor housing will face the drivers side. Then you need to get a custom downpipe made for it as well. Then you need to fab up a new LICP to match up to the stcok. If you have the time and the setup is free I would do it.

This question has been killed to death. If you are going to go through the trouble and do the swap you should get a turbo from the evo 9 it has a lager compressor than the 8's do other wise i would just pick up a evo 3 which bolts right up to your car now with no painful customization.

Ok, on a 1G and 2G DSM, the turbo flows forward. On the Evolution, the turbo flows reverse. Similar to a SRT-4. So really, the answer to your question is... no.
