Okay guys I need your help on this one big time. This is about my 97 GsX A/t with 50k miles. Here are the problems.

*Idle is 15 Vac, in Drive 11*

*15psi boost (stock), but creeps down to 12. I was running 10 without the Upper Ic Pipe, and 1g BOV. Also a/f is pegged.*

*Running stupid rich. 2nd to last green led on Autometer Phanton a/f.*

*Smells like gas all the time*

What I replaced in order.
1. Fuel Injector Lower Isolaters
2. Upper Ic Pipe (Dejon tool full)
3. 1g bov
4. Tb Gaskets (2)
5. O2 Sensor

No CEL, Idle is steady. I don't have compressed air so can't do a boost leak test. Any clue what this could be? This car is perfectly stock, with only an Injen Intake, and Upper IC Pipe. NO Mbc, or fuel pump installed.

Thanks!

Yea you really need to do a boost leak test, if you dont have an air compressor you could always do it the poor boy way and make a boost leak tester then drive to a gas station that has free air pumps and do it right in the parking lot. I know the wawa and sunoco around me has free air compressors so you should be able to find a place to try it haha. good luck man

i even just used a bicycle pump to pressurize the system. works just as well.

A bike pump will work if you have a system that is relatively leak free and will hold about 5-8psi already. Otherwise, you will not be able to tell where the leaks are coming from, only that you're building zero pressure. 5-8psi doesn't sound like much, but most people who haven't done a boost leak test in a while will hold absolutely 0psi.

So we are looking at a huge boost leak over here right? I shall try the gas station method. haha.

I didn't see a PCV Valve or a Fuel Filter on your list of things you recently changed.
If you're venting your BOV and your Valve Cover to intake pipe, this would also make you run rich.

Justreplaced PVC. Didn't help . Not venting, i am recurculating a 1g bov. Both of those lines are hooked up.

You have nothing in your profile, and according to that purple stuff picture in your gallery you're venting your Valve Cover.
I know you mentioned that you have the line hooked up, so that's good.
Perhaps you can fill out your profile and let us all know what you've got.

Then all you have left is the Fuel Filter, plugs and wires.

Check your cam gear timing marks at TDC. Maybe one got advanced or retarded a tooth.

Also, disconnect your A/F gauge and drive around. I have seen an A/F gauge from autometer screw up the signal from the 02 to the ECU and mess with the real A/F's So just disconnect it and try to drive like that.

For one the A/F gauge is using a narrow o2 band signal. Not deadly accurate at all. Definately make sure you check for boost leaks. Yet, keep in mind our cars will always run rich, unless you have a way of tuning. Just make sure you do your regular maintenance. Did injector seals ever cross your mind? Check for boost leaks and get back to us.

Wrong car. I own a 90 and a 97. Your looking at my 1g. The 1g is in my avatar *sp*

Just to clarify:

Venting BOV will make you run rich whenever it goes off (i.e. coming off the throttle, shifting)

Venting the valve cover will make you run lean at partial throttle, no effects at full throttle provided the PCV is in good condition.

The only thing to do is a proper boost leak test. Any other suggestions are useless unless the results are known.
