Montreal,
Hi guys,

I was driving on the highway and suddenly after pressing the gas i saw behind me a big cloud white smoke coming out from my exhaust.

I did a compression test and the results looked good : 158 160 155 160

I did a leakdown test and there is no leak at all.

I changed also the coolant filter housing. i thought i crashed it but still smoke coming out.

I really don't know whats the problem... Can someone please HELP ME ?

P.S its a 93 eagle talon 6 bolt

How is your turbo? Does it make a whine sound, or how much shaft play is there? When my Eclipse puffed out massive amounts of white smoke it was because the turbo seals were completely gone, and oil just went through exhaust burning white. If thats the case, time for new turbo! Hope you find the problem shortly, goodluck!

White smoke in the exhaust does not automatically mean a blown HG. It could result from a plethora of things. Cracked head/block, blown turbo seals, or a bad HG. Would check turbo first, if your leakdown showed nothing.

if it was a blown HG the compression test would not have came out so well. I would say +1 to a blown turbo.

Thx guys for you help... i checked today the turbo shaft and its moving a lot. I still have the warranty. So i'm gonna send it to him.

I ll let you know after what happen...

Thanks again
