Mitsubishi CAPS question.

Hello everyone. I tried to search but no luck. Here goes, this might be a stupid question... but I'll ask anyways. When I enter my vin in caps, I get an error. Is this because I do not have a mitsubishi? It is a talon, so I cant use the vin feature in caps? How can I tell if my car is a federal and california car, my silver id tag in the bay is faded. Thanks.

You could most likely call a dealer and find out. Sorry I'mno help with yours CAPS problem and I have never used the vin feature.

Check the driver's door jamb. The VIN plate will either say Federal or California. If you don't have an EGR, you're Federal.

A sure way to know if it's federal or cal is to look at the ECU sticker and then here: http://simon.chi.il.us/ECU/ECUID.html

you can call mitsubishi headquaters give them the vin and they will tell you.

2. unzip caps_with_cd.zip to C:\WINCAPS
3. run C:\WINCAPS\CAPSMAIN.EXE
4. be sure to have the CAPS cd in the d:\ cd rom drive

And no, you can't use CAPS to look up Chrysler/Eagle parts. However, almost all the parts are the same between cars. Welcome to hybridization. Some call it "bastardizing".
