Am I running too rich?

My buddy and I installed RC 550 and an HKS Super AFR last night and I was wondering how far back do I need to lean the injectors. For right now i am running stock boost (which is running about 13psi on my gauge) until I get my boost controller and new turbo. We have it set right now at -40,-39,-37,-35,-35,-33,-33 on the AFR. I don't have an A/F gauge so I was wondering if this was about right or do I need to go back more. Thanks

the only way to truely know is to get a wide band and see what the car is doing. you could alway pull a plug and tell how rich your running from that. from past experience though, i used to have 550s with an afc and my fuel corection was only -10 to -15 and my wide band was reading right at 11.5 at WOT. but everycar is different. i would recomend getting a wide band before the turbo install just to be safe. and i think your numbers are way to lean... 550s are only about 20% larger then stock injecters(but also depending on your fuel pressure

OK thanks, by adding the AFR will that not let the car fuel cut anymore. Because I really don't want to get to lean if there is no fuel cut to stop it.

P.S. by pulling the plugs if it is real lean what will the end of the plugs looks like.

the end of the plugs will be white if you runing lean and black if running rich. ideal is to be a nice tan color. no the AFR will not stop fuel cut.. it simply controls how much fuel pressue your system has... anything else just ask:)
