I just started working at a chrysler dealership and was just wondering what it would take to run SRT-4 coils on my 90 4g63t. I think It would work and look good because you'd be able to put the cover over them. If anyone has tried this or has any ideas please let me know because I think Im going to try it.:dsm:

Why is it more work than I want? What ll does it entail? Have either of you guys tried it?

Like mhuffman said, srt-4's use a single coil pack with the terminals in an H pattern. You would need to extend the wires going into the coil, switch ends, find a place to mount a coil that is 5 x 5 and boxy instead of flat, different spark plug wires, and thats just the start. The srt-4 coil pack is a 1-4, 2-3, firing order. Im not too sure if it is the same on a 1 gen, but if is wasnt, than you have another problem.
You would spend a good 3 hours and a small chunk of change just to put in a coil pack that doesnt belong there in the first place. Take the 50 bucks you were planning on spending for that coil and get yourself something that is more plug and play.

Not saying it can't be done, but to me at least it seems like more work and entirely too much bs just for a coil.

Now, as for you mentioning placing a cover over the coils, do you mean having an individual coil for each spark plug or coil over plug ignition? If that were the case than I would do alittle searching on here for opinions---There are a bunch.

An srt-4 coil is only a direct replacement for vehicles which use a 4 cylinder chrysler inspired engine. The mini cooper, avenger, 95-99 talon NT, 95-99 eclipse NT, neon, srt-4, and a whole bunch over seas.

o i thought the srt's had a cop system... or at least some of the newer 2.4t motors do thanx for the advice
