Just rebuilding my engine and I currently have the bearing blocking the oil hole, and I keep hearing its good and bad. My pump is the OEM with 136K. My question is, should I leave it blocked off and port my oil relief valve, or should I unblock it and then risk the chance of pressure being too low? And I am running a catch can.

Thats what I wanted to hear. Thanks.

hypotetically lets say i messed up the inside surface of my block off bearing that wouldnt cause any ill effects since nothings going to be running on it i didnt mess up my bearing i took out and was thinking about just putting the old bearing back in and putting the hole so that its not over the oiling port

To avoid crazy oil pressure issues i use a stubshaft for the oil pump and leave the other shaft in with no belt. No balance shaft belt or bearing problems, and no 130psi of oil pressure. The best of both worlds.

It wont hurt anything its just sitting there! I know the next time I do a 4g63 I will leave the front shaft in and just order the stubby for the rear!:thumb:
