I've read lots of post on knock so I guess I'm just posting for some peace of mind. Disregard my mods in my profile except for 2g manifold, 16g @ 9 LBS, o2 dump, downpipe.
The other day I was going WOT and the knob on my boost controller flew off when I was at 6,500 rpm. My knock went to 43 counts and the wastegate closed or something, I didn't hear spool either. Fixed that and everything was fine, no knock or smoke or shaft play.
Today I was on the freeway accelerating slowly and my knock went from 20-43 counts. It didn't do it the next minute. On the way home it started again, 10-30 counts while cruising around 3,500 rpm. It would not do it everytime so I was thinking it was phantom knock maybe.
WOT knock counts are below 10 if NOT 0, no need to post a log on that.
I also can't hear any obvious knocking, although I can't say I know what real knock sounds like. Do you guys think its real knock or PK.
I should also add that this happens every once in a while but today it would keep knocking, which is unlike other times.
