90 instrument cluster into a 91

Hello members, when we first picked up the talon I noticed that my gauge cluster oil pressure gauge and water temp acts funny so I switched out my 91 cluster for a 90 cluster. Come to find out they are not compatible. Rpms were not working at all. After doing some research 90 vs 91-94 clusters are incompatible. My question is since I tried the 90 cluster in my 91, could that have damaged anything? Can I just put in my gauge cluster out of my 94 eclipse gs (non turbo) into my 91 talon tsi? I already have an autometer boost gauge so not having the factory boost gauge is no issue. Thanks.

If your asking did you damage anything by putting the 90 in then no.
I haven't looked to see if there would be any problems putting the NA cluster in but I don't expect it.

Swap just the tachometer from the 91 cluster into your 90 cluster and the tach should work. You don't even have to remove the gauge needles or faces.

Everything worked but the tach after you swapped to the 90 right?

This is a 91 n/t cluster over a 90 turbo cluster, you can follw the traces and see that they are very similar.
