check engine light on

i have a 95 eclipse gs all stock. my dad was drivng it and all of the sudden the check engine light came on. i check the whole engine bay, and found nothing. the car still runs the same and idle is good. need help to fix this problem.

If the car runs normal and nothing feels different than before, more than likely its the O2 sensor. Go to your local autozone or whatever and have them use their tester to read the code. They should be able to tell you what it is, if they can't there is a listing of the codes and what they mean on here somewhere, just search.

Have the error code stored in the ECU read. That's what the whole system's for. It isn't often that you'll "see" what threw a CEL.
