Sorry if I seem paranoid, but I have had some rough experiences with my DSM so now that it is running great I freak out about anything that happens.

I hadn't driven my talon since saturday so I had taken it around my block and parked it back in the driveway when I was home during my break between class. Afterwards I checked the oil and it was clean and full, so I was closing the hood when I noticed that there was some of the neon green coolant on top of my radiator fan, just under where the upper radiator pipe connects to the rad. There was not much, but I didn't like the sight of it anyways. I didn't have anytime to investigate because I had to dip for school, and likely I will only be back at my fathers house this wednesday to check again.

I had driven the car for a few hours on saturday and there were absolutely no temperature or driveability problems on the highway or in downtown traffic.

My thoughts are perhaps the clamp is a little loose and letting some steam out which condenses on something then drips onto the fan shroud, or maybe the upper rad pipe has a leak/crack.

I'm new to most problems, so any suggestions for what to check for, and even though I doubt it would cause a cooling problem, as the coolant is not low or anything, any reason to take it to a garage to be checked?

Thanks for the help if you can

Stefan O.

You are on the right track, though it is more likely the hose where it attaches to the radiator. Inspect the hose for softness, cracking, swelling, etc.. Make sure the clamp was not to tight, and if everything looks good, remove the hose and check the radiator nipple, it may have cracked.

You could always pressurize the system and check for where it leaks that way. But like Locke said visually inspect your hoses and clamps to make sure everything is in working order.

Yeah, it has to be around your radiator outlet at the top. Check the hose, clamp and make sure the the outlet nipple isn't cracked. I had my radiator outlet crack and break on me. Time does not treat our cars well.
