Okay, so before you start in on the bashing. I already know that a narrowband A/F gauge is pretty much useless (i'm a riceboy, i know). I just finished installing one in my car and hooked up by following RRE's instructions (i connected it to the O2 sensor wire, power wire, and ground wire all coming right out of the ECU). My question is, when driving it seems to act pretty "normal" as in, it bounces from lean to rich, but when i take my foot off the gas and am coasting, the lights go all the way lean and then disappear alltogether until i press the gas pedal again. Is this normal? After i noticed that, i realized that at idle it would bounce from all the way lean, to 1 light rich (even when at WOT i don't think it's hit all the way rich). I'm thinking that the callibration must be off, but is that possible?

Yes, that is normal. If you happen to have a logger with you, you'll notice that during long deceleration periods, the injectors will be inactive. That's why the lights go dark when your foot is off of the gas.

The problem is resolution. The part of the voltage reading you want at wide open throttle is only a small portion of the gauge's total display, typically only 30%. I don't know if they still do it, but I got mine recalibrated by Gadgetseller.com so that it only reads 0.80 - 1.0v range. It's like a poor man's wideband.

That's a pretty good idea.......
