ok i've been having alternator issues recently until last night it magically started working. (i never understand electric s***) Anyways the way i would find out if it was working or not was pulling the positive terminal off the battery while the car was running. Big mistake. I did this last night and created a little arc off the terminal and no my radiator fans wont turn on. I checked the fuses and they all seem fine. Someone told me it may be a relay i blew. Someone please help! my engine bay and radiator is getting really hot and my talon is all i have to drive to work... :sosad:

There are two fuse boxes, the one under your dash, and the one under your hood. If i remember correctly, the fuse for the fans is in the box under the hood, and it is one of the large (about an inch across) fuses. Check all of those, and if you don't find a blown one, the relays are in the same box. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

Thanks that does help. Ill stop by auto zone and pick up some relays. Hopefully they'll kick back on...

Thats just it i cant find whats broken... I've learned that the AC fan still works but it only turns on when i have the air conditioner going. My other fan still doesnt move.... Relays didnt help.

Did you check ALL the fuses some times seemingly unrelated ones have effects. You should also check to see if you fried the fan motors. to do that get a piece of wire that can stretch from your battery to where the wires go into your fan, pull of the positive wire that's going into your fan and touch the live wire from the battery to the positive in of your fan. If it doesn't work double check that its grounded well and if its grounded back to the harness or something complicated pull off the ground wire too and temporarily ground the fan to the frame with a extra piece of wire.
If it doesn't run you might have some how fried the fan motors, I don't think its likely but its worth checking.
good luck man

just for future refrence, don't ever disconnect the battery while the car is running, just get a voltmeter and check the voltage. you could really mess up your electrical and if your alternator was bad you would not be able to tell from that, you need a voltmeter
