Starting Problem

I just installed an aeromotive fuel pressure regulator on my 97 eclipse gst. I set the base pressure to 43 psi with the vaccuum hose off. I am currently still on m stock fuel system, but i will be upgrading to a 255lph pump and 550cc injectors within the next month.

Now ever since i installed the FPR it seems like it takes forever for my car to start. Is there something wrong or is this due to my stock fuel system and a large pressure drop when i turn the car off. It only has trouble starting like this when the car has sat for more than a half hour. Is anything wrong? I dont want to wear out my starter.

Did you also remove the FP solenoid that was routed through the vacuum line. If so that is normal for the car to take a second to start.

I dont think so. Where would it be located so I can take a look.

Actually Ok i know what you are talking about but no its still there and i still have the vaccuum line connected to it. Could it be there is a leak in the line to cause that?

Everything is connected right and it still is taking me a few seconds longer to start my car.

How much will this cut the life of my starter?
