2g rebuild

That depends on how bad the motor is right now and how far you want to go with the rebuild.
If the head, block and crank are still good you can do a basic overhaul with the block in the car for about $500 or so if you do it yourself.

160psi on all four is good, I don't think you can get much better than that. What kind of problems are you having with it?

Oh wait, you got a 7 bolt...160 should still be good though..I don't remember how much a 7-bolt should have but I've seen motors with a lot less still take a fair amount of boost without issues.

i belive its suppost to be 178 for 2g. Its not the fact that im having problems its that im going to be modding my auto tranny. Im going to be putting lsd, shift kit, performance rebuild kit, all that stuff and since all have the engine out i was thinking about rebuilding the engine so i have a full compression and maybe throw in some arp head studs and titanium retainers. All be running 21psi with alchoal water injection with the evo3 and might upgrade to the fp 3052.

since you have it all apart you might as well get some forged rods, pistons, bearings etc....or get a stroker kit...upgrade your cams, get a cometic head gasket along with your ARP bolts. get new timing belt and pulleys and gaskets

good luck:thumb:

I think if you aren't going to machine the block or get forged rods/pistons and the whole ball of wax, you are better off not messing with it because you still have good compression. Just add ARP headstuds and a new timing belt kit.

yea i was thinking about forged pistions to. But will see what happens this wont be done for ahwile so all see where my compression is at then. thanks for everyones help
