I found this ad on ebay, but was not sure whether the item shown is a real Evo 3 mani...

Can anyone tell me whether this is a real mani or not? Looks like it is on sale for a great price.

I think basically its going to be hard to tell if its the real evoIII or a knock off. I don't think the casting numbers tell you much & probably vary depending on when they were cast. If you read the above linked thread they talk about the casting numbers & the 2g was like 1617, while the evoIII was something like 451L he thought (looks like 1411 from what I can tell from the posted pic). If you go to FP's website & look up evoIII mani the pic they have posted (though may not be the actual evoIII & just a general photo) is cast 1162, so it seems none appear to have the same number. You can't make out what the number is in the ebay link either. For that price I would guess & say its a knock off, but thats not always a bad thing. Think its more important to find others that are using this mani & how well they stand up to cracking vs if its real or not.

My mani was supposed to be the "super deluxe, new & improved, won't crack, etc" (more expensive) mani & it had several crack in it the first time I removed the heat shied after 6 months use.

Who made your mani. I have the 1st gen of the sbr cast mani and its holding up just fine. My brother bought the 2nd gen sbr cast with the wastegate flange and the damn thing has two cracks on top in about 8 months also. Goes to show you that expensive is not always the best.
