Im finishing up a 6bolt swap into a 95 Talon tsi awd and I’m a little unsure about what I need to do with the injectors and plug wires. I have a complete swap with a 6bolt head, intake and bottom end. Can I use a 2g coil pack I know I have to relocate it to some other spot but other than that are their any problems? If I do use the 2g coil pack do I need to swap the spark plugs, and if so do I need to swap just the plugs or the injectors too?

Why don't you just get everything off the 1g ? It will be much easier considering everything will bolt right up :thumb: .Get everything from the coil pack to plugs made for 1g.You will save time and hassle. And as for the injectors,im pretty sure the 2g 450cc's will bolt right up.

Arent the sensors for the 1g and 2g coil packs different? That would be the only reason I would not go with 1g coils.

Got me there :sneaky: Not sure.If anything try out the 2g coil pack and see if it works properly on the 1g motor. If not,you know what to do.

I was previously using a 2g head on top of the 6bolt bottom end but I just swapped it out for a 1g head and intake. I had the old 2g head running off the 2g coil pack with the spark plug wires swapped. Now that I have the 1g head and am using a 1g CAS I'm unsure if I can use a 2g coil pack and if I do should I be swapping the plug wires. I have also heard of people swapping injector positions on the 1g head and I'm not sure what's up with that. I would like to continue using the 2g coilpack just because I have it already if it is indeed possible

I believe on the 95-96 you need to swap the wires. Check:

www.magnusmotorsports.com

goto their tech page and check out the 1g in a 2g article.

As far as the coil pack, it does not fit on the 1g intake manifold very nicely, I plan on just bolting mine to the firewall, along with the MAP and transistor thing... you can also take the coils off of the mount and then squeeze them in on the 1g intake mani.

See that’s actually what is confusing me! on page 5 of Magnus’s 1gina2g page (http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/tech/1gina2g.pdf) it says you need to swap the plugs on a 95-96 if your using a stock 2g head. I’m not, I’m using the 1g head and CAS but I am using the 2g(95-96) coil pack. So I’m not really sure what to do. On that page it also says under 97+ it says no plug or injector! swap is necessary. Does that mean for 95-96 you need to swap injectors as well?

As for mounting the coil pack, big ass plug thing and map sensor I actually came up with some pretty nice spots. I mounted the 2g coil pack bracket right above the drivers side engine mount using two preexisting holes and lil L bracket I made. The big ass plug was mounted to the fire wall next to my throttle cable box and the map sensor was relocated to the fire wall next to it using that nice CNC machined Map relocation block from: http://www.dsmparts.com/customer/product.php?productid=584&cat=171&page=1 its really worth getting that by the way it’s a sweet little piece. It actually all turned out looking pretty pro. I can throw you some pics of it if you would like.

hummmm... makes enough sense to me, thanks for the help man ill let ya know if that does the trick.
