When is an upgraded oil cooler necessary? for that case a tranny cooler as well?

i have a factory 1990 oil cooler. when i travel at 60mph, when i stop i can feel heat come from the cooler. also i have a p/s cooler i feel heat from it. i mounted it on the left side of the car. you can see the install in my photos

an oil cooler is NECESSARY when you plan to road race your car or if you have seriouse mods and are running high boost levels. Besides that, its hard to say if it is necessary or not. watch your oil temperature and if it is high when you are running your car hard then you probably would want one

An oil cooler is always a good thing to have racing or not but for a street car you can get away without one. Manual tranny coolers are not needed as much unless the car is going to travel at a high speeds. Auto tranny coolers are a must, Ive heard by reducing the temp by only 10 degrees you can almost double the life of the tranny.

I have a street car and changed to a 90 oil cooler because the older water cooler sucked. The filter kept backing off

If you are auto get an aftermarket cooler. I have a fully built auto, manumatic mod, and have two coolers running in series just in case.
