Is there a good side to taking out all those ugly vac lines and EGR whatnot? I heard that somewhere... just thought I would ask... I really wouldnt mind taking all that crap out...

Cleans up the engine bay of some clutter, no egr gasses going back into the intake, gives you something to do.

Thats pretty much it. You dont gain anything performance wise but it sure does clean things up a bit. However if you remove it you will get a CEL, but if you have dsmlink you can fix that.

If you have to remove your emissions equipment to make power, you really weren't making power to begin with. Just my opinion plagiarized from a magazine editorial.

He's a 1g, he will get no cel. He can remove the whole set of solenoids, blovk the egr, cap the TB lines, and pull the evap canister.

You won't gain any performance unless you're leaking boost or vac from the lines you pull.

Also, the BIGGEST reason for doing this "mod" is to lessen the chance for vac and boost leaks. Making it easier to find them if you DO have them. And a cleaner engine bay.

On my car i did everything on that list above, and also put a catch can in between the valve cover and the intake. I've noticed no "gain" but there also isn't a hinderance.

One note though, if you remove the FPS (fuel pressure solenoid) you could possibly have harder hot starts. Since the main point of the FPS is to bump up fuel pressure on hot starts. I havn't noticed any difference in my car though. But i do have a bigger pump thats rewired.
