This is a question i just can't find a direct answer for. I can buy a eclipse(whole car) and a neon(parts car) for cheap but I need to know first. I have a 95 n/t motor that the bottom end is bad and a motor avaliable out of a neon. Can i just use the bottom end from the neon and the rest from the ecipse without cutting wires or some dumb mod to the motor?

Yes, the crankcase and internals are a direct swap with the 2gnt. You will have to use the oilpan and (obviously you know this, I mention for others) the head from the Eclipse.

Thanks. Thats what I was thinking but I just wanted to make sure before I bought anything. Just in cause will a single overhead block work or does it have to be dual? I haven't payed enough attention to the blocks to notice.

Yeap, SOHC neon block will work. The Pistons are different though, I believe you will get a tad more compression with the SOHC block. Still, it will fit without modification.

And if you want some more economy, or dont like shifting as often, you can use the tranny as well. 3.55:1 final drive vs. eclipse 3.94:1. This will slow you down though. Its another option.

Nice. Thanks for the extra info. I found out more about the eclipse today. the guy said it just quit running so it may not even be blown up. I'm trying to get two cars from him anyway. Kind of a package deal. 95 gs and a 99 gst with only 78k on it so if I get him down cheap enough I might just get both before I even figure out whats wrong with it. Trying to get both for $3500 :shhh:
