is it possible to boost less in first gear than all my other gears?

Why, that's what they make dual stage boost controllers for! Check out the TurboXs unit. I'm sure there are others as well.

Do you mean is there something available that will allow you to run less boost in 1st or is your car running less boost in first compared to other gears & your wondering why? Either way, yes if you get a dual stage boost controller you can have 2 preset boost levels & switch between the two. Some electronic boost controllers allow you to set them up to run a different boost level in each gear & it switches automatically. If your question was the second part, yes its normal to see less boost in first compared to the other gears as boost is also load related. Sometimes you won't see full boost in second either depending on your setup.

As daren p mentioned it is normal to see less boost in the lower gears due to less load on the engine. When I am in 5th gear on freeway and give the car just a bit of gas my boost climbs right up past 15 psi in no time. I have to get on the gas considerably harder to see that same boost in 1st.

When you say you're boosting lower, how much lower are you talking about? 1 psi, 5 psi? Please try to clarify a little more.

yes its normal to see less boost in first compared to the other gears as boost is also load related.

Do not boost in first. Get to second, then use it.

Dejontool used to make a bracket with switches that could tell when you were in 1st gear. Dave has dropped that part though. You could make your own switch bracket and still use his dual stage boost controller though.

Hell, I need to do this with my 2G. I've got too much power for 1st gear too.
