Mounted my FMIC and now I'm running hot. Bought new slim fans which helps with idle, but when cruising around I'm still hot. So, I had this idea....
Has anyone ever used a lower "ram air" type scoop to force fresh air up between the IC and AC/Radiator? I'm guessing that the combination of lower flow + warmer air coming off the IC could be supplemented by adding a little fresh air. The only potential problem I see is turbulence which may actually reduce airflow even more... but I don't think this would be the case because it is much lower in volume than air coming through the IC, and should be at a lower velocity.
(I'm probably reinventing the wheel here, but haven't seen anything on it). I've got a fiberglass mockup in progress that I'll test ASAP, but wanted some opinions/feedback in the meantime.
Here is a rudimentary side-view diagram of what I have in mind.
