Here's my 2nd multi-questioned thread, man I feel like a ###. Anyway...

A. Would it be better to buy an eBay catback exhaust, or have a shop weld one up. I'm after a turboback so I was thinking either have the shop weld up a full turbo back, or buy a catback and have the shop weld it up to a 3" downpipe. My friend got a full 3.5" welded up for his firebird for $50 at an exhaust shop. It doesn't get cheaper than that.

B. If I have a shop do it, should I buy a downpipe and cat to make it easier for them.

C. If I decide to have it welded up, what muffler might you "recommend". Just point me in the right direction. Basically what sounds good and what doesn't. (I'm after the opposite sound of a Honda.) I hear the mufflers w/ the eBay catbacks sound pretty good so I'd be good if I went the eBay route.

Thanx a 2nd time!!

I would say go with a megan racing 3" downpipe and have a shop weld up a 3" MANDREL bent exhaust. I would recomend a Magnaflow, or a anything thats pretty much straight through. No flowmaster stuff. Its really all personal prefence on muffler. I have a thermal 3" catback which uses a magnaflow style exhaust and i sounds awsome. A turbo dsm will never sound like a honduh with any muffler so dont worry. I would go with a 3" megan downpipe and custom MANDREL bent cat back with a 3" magnaflow singe in single out muffler.

I would buy a bolt on one if I was you, a shop welding an exhaust can be a pain to take off if you ever need to take it off.

I have a turbo back custom exhaust with a magnaflow and I think it sounds great.

There really shouldn't be any issue taking it off. I just unbolt it from the o2 housing, take it off the hangers, and me and my buddy can drop the whole system.

i have a 3in megan downpipe and an HKS DRAGGER axle back and had a shop make the in between(all 3in) and it sounds GOOD!!!

All of the exhaust shops in my area wanted near one grand for a full 3" turbo-back exhaust with stainless steel piping. That didn't even include the fact that I wanted a 3" high-flow cat. I ended up getting a Buschur Racing 3" turbo-back with the high-flow cat for 900 shipped, all stainless steel piping.

Personally I would rather have a pre-made system (less welds). If you do go with a custom system then I agree with the other guys, Magnaflow mufflers are a straight through design, are not too loud, and have a very nice deep sound.

like some others said megan racing makes good downpipes. Currently on my car i have a greddy evo2 cat back and it sounds nice and deep not very "honda like"
