ok so i was driving my car today and noticed that either when i turn or hit a bump under the left front tire a loud annoying screach is heard. now it is like 10 degrees out so i figured it just be b/c of the cold, but now the car is parked and if i turn the steering wheel it makes that same noise. any help would be nice. 2nd prob in one week and i just bought it.......WTF

I'd put my money on the strut bearing plate on top of the strut where it mounts to the car. It would bang from hitting a bump on the side its bad and make noise when turning since if my memory serves me correctly is where the strut actually pivots when you turn the wheel.

It sounds like a ball joint to me. If you have access to a drive on lift then have somebody in the car, lift it up, and have them turn the wheel side to side while it is sitting on the lift and put your hand on the ball joint to see if you can feel the noise I guess you would say. You will know what I am talking about if it is there. Make sure to have the wheels on the lift though or this might not work. Most shops will check this for free to try and get the sale also. So just bring it to one get an estimate and if you think you can do it tell them you will have to make an appointment later.

I also believe that the ball joints are covered under a recall so check the dealer before you replace them if they are bad.

HA good luck getting recalls done. Had a leaky xfer case that led to all 4 wheels locking up and the lady at the dealership hung up on me!
Dealer recalls and NHTSA or w/e it is are TOTALLY different.

Since I had the exact same problem on multiple cars I would also say it was the balljoint.

yes i would say it is a balljoint sounds like the same problem i had and after talking to mitsu about it they were giving me a hard time just buy a new one and do it your self it's not that hard i replaced both of my front ones in less than 2 hours..

Well i figured out it was the ball joint. it is so ### that there is no way to greace it. also LOL another problem.... the clutch is sticken down, but slowly comes back up. i am pretty sure it is the slave cylinder, am i right? i am sick of everything breaking. i just bought the car a week ago. << i am not worried about the $$ part just the time it takes in the shop. thanks for all the help guys this is by far the best forum i have ever been to!!
