I been running about 18pounds of boost on my Gt3076r and im using NGK 8s at .25 gap and im still breaking up after about 6k RPMS. Can anyone with a comparable size turbo and boost let me know what plugs and gap they are running? All help is appreciated. Thanks.

I think that your gap is to small. On 7's I ran 26 and on 8's 28 and that is at 30+ psi with no problems.

If you are still breaking up after 6k at that boost than you have another problem. Only reason to go that low would be for diagnostic reasons and this tells you, that you have weak spark. You should never go below .026-.028.

Ohh after reading your problem is your gapped at .25. Thats huge. LOL

Wow, a 1/4" gap! No wonder you're misfiring:p . Just kidding, we know what you meant. I agree with the other guys that it doesn't neccessarily sound like a spark problem. Do you have any logs to indicate what might be going on? I'm thinking:
1) Boost leak test. Make sure to pressurize to 18+ psi as the leak (if there is one) may only pop up at higher boost.
2) Fuel delivery. Maybe getting to lean causing timing to be pulled.

As to your original question my plugs are at .028" with my EVOIII16G running 18 psi with no problems.

I haven't done any recent logs but since I changed to the 8's form the 6s it has eliminated most all my knock but I was still breaking up after 5k at 8's with .30gap than I changed it to .25gap and it break up after 6k now. I need to do another boost leak test but I don't think that is the problem because I still get good spool up.

A lot of boost leaks begin to leak only after a certain pressure has been reached which would not affect spool up.

Yea the boost leak will barely make you lose spool time. Im guessing your problem is your A/F is off due to a boost leak. I had the exact same problem. I would go to ngk 7's they should be the coldest you need.

Since your only running 18 psi I would say thats a DD pump gas tune your running? If so you shouldn't need to go with the 8's & they will probably foul pretty quickly. Some switch to the 8's to help with knock issues but you have other issues as 7's are more then enough for the kind of boost your running. I've run 22 psi on my 7's without any knock & I'm sure others have run more.
